Joo was born and raised in Los Angeles but moved to South Korea at age 9. She started playing golf in the fourth grade after joining her father at the driving range one day. She is inspired by South Korean golfer Chun In-gee. She holds dual U.S. and Korean citizenship and previously played as Alicia Joo.

• Finished T34 at the LPGA Q-Series to earn LPGA membership for the 2023 season

Amateur Highlights

• Advanced through all three stages of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, finishing T60 in Stage I and 11th in Stage II

• Competed in Toyota Tour Cup events as a part of the SCPGA Tour, finishing second at an event in Fallbrook in 2022 

• Ranked third in the 2021 Korea Junior Golf Association, winning the Jeollanam-do Championship and finishing third in the Gyeongsangnam-do Championship
