Cornwell started playing golf at the age of 5 when she received a Gary Player set of clubs. She played golf at Southern Methodist University and at the University of Arkansas, eventually studying pre-law. Cornwell was a three-time All American Junior Golfer and four-time Arkansas Women’s State Amateur Champion. Lisa was hoping to turn golfing into a professional career after college but headed into media instead. She began her professional media career on local networks, reporting for NBC-, ABC- and CBS-affiliate stations. She worked as a studio host, reporter and play-by-play announcer before transferring to the Big Ten Network. As a player with over 30 titles to her name, she now stars as the TV host of the Golf Channel and has established herself among the top golf news reporters.
