Personal
Kim, 5’9”, started playing golf at the age of 11. She credits her family as the individuals most influenced her career. She qualified for the LPGA Tour by finishing fourth on the 2003 Futures Tour season-ending money list. Kim was the silver medalist at the 1998 Asian Games. She was the 1998-99 Korea Junior Championship winner and from 1998-2000 was a member of the Korean National Team. She won a total of 19 tournaments in Korea as an amateur. Outside of golf, Kim enjoys reading books.

2012

  • Competed in the U.S. Womens’ Open Championship and an additional 14 events on the Symetra Tour

2009

  • Finished T29 at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger

2008

  • Finished T14 at the HSBC Women’s Champions

2007

  • Recorded two top-10 finishes, including second at The Mitchell Company LPGA Tournament of Champions, where she crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings

  • Tied her career-low 65 in the opening round of the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill

2006

  • Finished T19 at the Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola

2005

  • Won her first career event at the U.S. Women’s Open, holing a wedge shot from the greenside bunker on the final hole to become the 14th player in LPGA history to make the U.S. Women’s Open her first career win

  • Carded a career-low 65 in the opening round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger, where she tied for 29th.
